Synray Corporation

Synray Corporation is a family-owned manufacturer of modified alkyd resins, oil-free alkyds, and solvent-borne acrylics located in Kenilworth, New Jersey. Since 1981, we have focused on serving the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the paint and coatings industry.

Synray has been awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal for its sustainability performance, placing the company among the top 5% of companies globally rated by EcoVadis. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, environmental stewardship, and sustainability throughout our operations and supply relationships.

All of our customers are “house accounts,” meaning we work directly with manufacturers rather than through manufacturers’ representatives or distributors. We believe direct relationships allow us to better understand our customers’ needs and respond more effectively. When a technical issue arises, customers can communicate directly with our Technical Director or one of our chemists, allowing us to understand the problem firsthand and work quickly toward a solution.

Our primary focus is on middle-market manufacturers rather than large publicly traded or private-equity-owned companies that may require supply agreements giving them priority during periods of constrained production capacity or supply-chain disruption. At Synray, we do not categorize customers by size or purchasing power. Every customer is a best customer.

We also partner with customers to develop equivalent or alternative products so they are not dependent on a single supplier for critical raw materials. At the same time, Synray has developed a number of unique resin technologies and specialty products over more than four decades in business.

In periods of supply-chain uncertainty, having a qualified secondary supplier for solvent-borne alkyd and acrylic resins can be an important part of a manufacturer’s supply strategy. While Synray produces certain commodity alkyds to accommodate customer requirements, our core strengths are in modified alkyds and high-solids alkyds, including systems that can be formulated HAPs-free, in exempt solvents, or at 100% solids.
